Any one ever use Raspberry jam in your brews? Doing a wheat and have some jam that I made and was going to put about 1/2 cup in at the end of the boil.
Coments???

No but I've thought about it. Probably get some permanent haze from the pectin. It will add some sugar for increased abv. 1/2 cup won't get you any flavor though. You'd need maybe 10X that to get the flavor to come through.

If anything it would "muddy" up your brew. I say resist!

What are the listed ingredients on the jam? That's a good starting point. I'd say that using jam isn't worth it. If you really want a raspberry beer, use an extract or fruit puree.

I made the jam myself.
12 cups fresh raspbeeries
7-8 cups sugar
1 pack pectin.

Jam and beer don't mix well. Pectin will just cause haze/clearing problems. The amount you're considering will not impart much flavor. Try a few pounds of fresh/frozen fruit in the secondary.
