I recently bought a couple of these carboy topper thingys online from the homebrew shop, theyre silicon and have 2 different size nipples on them for 3/8 or 1/2 line for blow offs. Once they came in the mail, i found they looked pretty corny and they dont grip the carboy too well. I just imagine them hitting the top of my chamber as soon as any pressure built. Anyone use these? I held off this brew day and went with my tried and true blow off set up. But if they do work for any of you, they look convenient and easy to clean.

I have never used one but unless it is really loose. or your blow off hose or airlock plugs up, there shouldn't be any significant pressure in the carboy.
