Im thinking of getting better bottles to ferment in instead of buckets. I have read that they are not graduated. What is the best way to graduate them? Pour a measured gallon in, mark it, and so on? Might be answering my own question, but never hurts to ask.

Few carboys are graduated ... I would measure it out yourself ... Gallon, or half-gallon, at a time ...

That's pretty much the idea, though you might want to go in smaller incraments than a full gallon.
And, just FYI, those buckets that are graduated usually aren't accurate.

Gallon markings are on their website...

Measure and mark it yourself.

Do half-gallon intervals. I find them very useful. Also make sure you mark the bottom half gallon level (maybe even the bottom quart), it makes it easy to tell how much trub you have at the bottom of the fermenter.
