I have four kinds of apples growing on my place- there were here when I bought it- going to make some cider from them... I don't know my brands of apples and wonder if anyone can tell me about these...? I am hoping I got lucky and have a nice blend of tart and sweet!
Liberty
Fiesta
Akene or Akane
Alkmene

Try looking them up through Trees of Antiquity or another heirloom company. There are also some online databases that you can access.

Just talked to a seller at the farmer's market who told me about making great single variety cider from Liberty apples.

I'd say you have two sweet and two tart. Given that they'll ripen over several months, you might end up making each cider separately and blending to age. We liked Liberty so much that it is the only full-sized fruit tree we've planted.

I also work a lot with Liberty apples. They give a nice fruity base and add aromatics, but I think they lack the complexity to stand alone without significant balancing post fermentation.

+1 to fermenting separately and blending after.
