OK,

I was getting a hole drilled in my keggle because i didnt want to spend the $35 on my own step bit.

I should have.

The hole I got drilled for free is oblong and leaks slightly, when the thermometer is in place.

Can I just get a bigger silicone O ring? or do I need to get a piece of stainless welded on as a patch and try to drill the hole again?

Any advice on what to do would be awesome.

I would get one of those silicone washers from bargain fittings, and a SS washer to go with it. That is big enough that it will easily stop it from leaking.

LOL yeah. A little while after I posted that, it hit me. I was wondering what type of shananigans would follow. I meant the size of the therm hole. Thinking that a possible weld of a half inch coupling, or a weld less might be able to fix the problem.
