I used a canned malt toilets brand and 1kg of dextrose in the brew, there is a layer of stuff at the bottom of my fermenter, is this normal? If not is there anything I can do to save the brew?
Thanks

The layer on the bottom is completely normal! Depending on the type of beer and the type of yeast, the layer of yeast/trub at the bottom of the fermenter can be anywhere from 1/2 inch to several inches thick. do not worry about this at all. It sounds like you are on your way to making beer.

On another note, I would be much more concerned about using "toilets brand" malt. This does not seem like a very good name for a product to me!
