Has anyone been to Big Bear this season? My SIL's birthday is this weekend and she wants to go skiing, but we are unsure on the conditions. Looking a the ski cam and weather forecast it doesn't seem that great, but I guess they can get a decent deal for tickets at Costco. Trying to decide if conditions are so bad it would not be worth it no matter the cost (essentially free for me) or if it would still be fun even in poor conditions.
Was there this past weekend. There’s almost no snow anywhere except for a few dirty patches in the back forest.

Did not hit the slopes (drove by a couple of times), but that’s because I know it’s all man made stuff that ices over fairly quickly, which isn’t great for snowboarding/skiing. The slopes did not look very crowded however, despite a shitload of people roamin around town.

No but that's a reputable winery. FWIW, best bang for your buck will always be international, specifically Spanish.

Yeah, I like his wines a lot which is why I was curious about the vermouth. Guess I'll just have to test it out myself if I find a bottle.

List of 20 worst beers in the world (lol):

http://drinkwire.liquor.com/post/wo...ld?utm_source=IQX&utm_medium=pdpst#gs.y2WfhbQ

I think I could easily find 20 worse ones at local breweries. I prefer breweries with clean, flavorless yellow beer than breweries with so many unattenuated beers & with so many off flavors that they should host an off flavor class!

Nationwide, I’d probably put Rogue’s Bacon Maple Donut beer, Sam Adams Infinium, or Alpine Chez Monieux on my top 20 of worst beers I’ve ever had. I’m getting Vietnam War-like flashbacks from so many years of infected and/or super vinegary beers that I’ve had.

As true as this is about Chez and Inf, no normal people in the world have ever herd of those beers... Maple Bacon at least saw national Distro and that makes sense, but Chez? Common... It sounds like your list would be worst .rar beers in the World (with the exception of Rougue).

Also you forgot V009 ;)

And that article was stoopid

Cheers and Happy Friday Roy!

Between Prohibition and when On The Tracks was around, you could come up with a good list. Many beers on that list are brewed very well to style.

Not a huge fan of V009, but far from worst beer I ever had category! And I still got bottles. Saving for an impossible vertical that will only happen in my dreams.

If Iron Fist isn't on a worst beers list, it's not a worst beers list.

Also I only had V009 fresh-ish, and I didn't enjoy it that much. That said, I'd be interested in revisiting it again.

Probably. They did for a few years now for this event. I’m kind of more excited about that Samichlaus. Hope stuff lasts until tomorrow because I’m too old for evening crowds at Obriens during special events.

Which year(s) do they have? Or ....are you making fun of me for liking beat?

My friend did the insane ridic vertical of Samichlaus a few weeks back in New York.. i kinda hate that beer fresh but i was jealous about 5 and ten year old vintages...

home of Electric Jellyfish which is pretty rad
y'all should creep out of the whale's vag more often
Electric Jellyfish was underwhelming. The pizza rolls we're fantastic. PP needs to do some recon, steal the pizza rolls idea and bring them back to SD. And for the Diegans, pizza rolls are a Texas thing, not exclusive to Pinthouse.

Okay next stupid non-resident question:

Is this place named for the Three Company's TV show bar or did it exist then and inspire the bar in the show?

http://www.regalbeaglesd.com/

And if its the former, what the **** is a cheesy TV idea-themed bar doing with such a non-trivial taplist?.....or is the answer: because San Diego...... ?

well maybe there will be some left tomorrow afternoon....

Definitely possible!

No idea on the year. I discovered it on the tap list you posted! I’ve been inspired to try it ever since I saw a friend do a giant vertical all the way back to ‘87. I’ve not tried a single vintage!

Bar came way after the show. It's a great place. One of the most underrated in San Diego, in my imo. As good of bar food as you can find. Right up there for best wings, and best cheesesteak in town. Easily my favorite chicken cheesesteak. And yeah, always a great tap list.

Just learned that same friend actually was at Obriens on Monday and said it was a 2010!

Well I was going to hit up mayahuel and then toronado to try that tovarish variant, but now I just really want a chicken cheesesteak...

I love the Beagle! I used to frequent that place when JEmily lived a block away. Definitely underrated, good food and solid tap list. Plus it is easy to get a game of darts in. The only downside is parking sucks in that general area, but i am sure you north park folks are uaed to that.
