I’ll be at my house for the Steelers game and my neighbors for the next. Beer:30 Starts soon... picked up a Pupil growler yesterday

I know its a mortal sin here, but I go to Pizza Port once a year. After enough years of hazy beers that all taste the same to me (everywhere I ever go), having a clean, very hoppy beer that doesn’t turn to **** in two days in my fridge is definitely an eye opener to me. I’m ready to recieve Jebus now.

Lost Abbey was fun yesterday. Enjoyed Wild Barrel too. Ran out of steam by the time I got to Burgeon at 6.30 and was asleep by 9. Getting too old for the SoCal beer life

Will be down at Modern Times Loma this afternoon though if anyone wants to touch tips and relieve me of a couple of the beers in my bag.

Are you thinking of a different brewery? They have been making great beers for years but their hoppy beers fly under the radar for most people on this forum.

What do you recommend?

I think the gold standard is Carpano Antica, but I haven't really messed around with them too much. Read a few things I trusted about that one and stick with it.

Anchor Steam is tasting fantastic to me right now. That balance of hops and malt is so hard to find these days.

Didn't do any beer stuff today as I'm still not feeling totally right, but did go to the beach on Coronado and then Pacific Beach for some sun, ocean, and fresh air. By the time we were done hunger had out-competed stomach upsetness and I remembered the recommendation for Oscar's Mexican Seafood. Suffice to say this was a highlight of the weekend.

Battered fish, smoked fish, and al pastor tuna tacos with a big side of beans. For the first time in days, my tummy is happy.

Can't necessarily say the person next to me on tonight's flight will be...

Fancy? Cocktails are simple. That’s the problem really. Margarita is tequila lime sugar water. That easy. That ***** gross and plain lazy. Same with cooking. Salt fat acid heat.
