Howdy yall,
So I enjoy uncommon ingredients and came across a maltster from Chile named Patagonia Malt. Allegedly the unique topography, water quality, volcanic activity, and cultivating techniques of the region create a malt all to it's own. As if that weren't intriguing enough (albeit blatant marketing) to inspire a search for this mystical "god's grist", my mother is native Chilena so I've got skin in the game to see what this grain is all about.
The kicker? I haven't had any luck finding it anywhere online. Their website is still kept relatively updated so they're still in business in some capacity under their parent company Maltexco and I've heard rumors that LHBSs scattered across the lands sometimes carry them. I'd prefer to go the LHBS route to do my part and shop small business before calling direct and needing to brush of my Spanglish.
Have you heard of/used these malts before? Or do you have any idea where I could obtain some from? Any help is much appreciated.
