Anyway. This is the NYC thread so I've no issues saying **** yeah, Yankees! Looking forward to Friday!

I don't mean this in a snarky way but who buys these Sixpoint cans? They don't get any distro to shops I don't think, I never hear of anybody going there or turning up to tastings with them, trading them etc. Have they got an under the radar following or something?

nathanmiller has bought some I believe.
It's annoying they don't do any distro whatsoever. Plus the pickup windows are very inconvenient.

I did indeed buy them one time.

It was a massive pain in the ass to be frank.

I had to use their app, which required setting an alarm because the push notification don't work (I found this out after missing the first sale after downloading the app) and then when I got on there I had to check out through the app, which is hit or miss. Then I had to go to freaking red hook to pick up cans in the freezing cold on a specific Saturday during a specific two hour window.

On the other hand, they had jockey boxes filled with new ticks and the cans were actually delicious (BA 4Beans & BA 5Beans) so it wasn't all bad.

I'm highly unlikely to go again though. I don't live close enough to Red Hook, I'm rarely available during the weird pickup window, and the app is a nightmare.

[Edit: I now see from the fb post that they have somewhat improved the pick-up window. Still though. Not convenient.]

Just noticed they are having a joint event with Sloop at a pub on the west side of Prospect Park (Windsor Terrace) on Friday. Juice Bomb with grapes added amongst other things.

You saved the best for last (Katz’s) and probably went worst to best the whole weekend (raginasian238 -> BravoDawg -> me -> literally anyone else + smoked meat)

The people seem out of order. You meant best to worst, right?

Wait. Still probably out of order.

Roze and iamjo were also around Friday. One is certainly better/one is certainly worse.

Great seeing you as always, box_social. You're welcome here anytime; we need more pizza. Graham misses your socks already.

Also nice to meet you, CharlieMurphy, and Vanessa, if only for a short time; hope you made it back to (Little) Newark (Liiiitttle Newark) okay!

One of my buddies runs a company called TapRm and if you live in NY and you can’t get to the Plan Bee taproom, you can have bottles delivered directly to you on his site. They’re starting to get a solid mix of new breweries and are adding more all the time, I think it’s a pretty cool option to have.

Greetings, NYC people - after a couple year absence, I will be back visiting twice in two months. 11/22-28 for a week over Thanksgiving, and 12/27-1/1 for The Phish @ MSG.

I currently have no set plans for either trip outside of some family stuff and the shows, so what’s new that I should check out? Anyone want to get together for beers and/or a bottle share?

I should go to one of those Phish shows. I'm not really a big fan, I guess I like some songs, though I have nothing against them, but I've always wanted to check one out, like, for science.

Go to Threes if you have not previously made it there. Grimm opened a space so people don't have to harass Whole Foods employees about getting cans anymore. It is super close to Interboro, which I would also highly recommend. Mikkeller opened a space at Citi Field that is awesome and has a zillion beers. Folksbier is super close to Other Half and is worth a visit. Alewife has a brewery now too, though I have not had any of their stuff. Fifth Hammer and LIC Beer Project are both walkable from Alewife, and close to a few other breweries in Long Island City as well.

Be sure to drink any Suarez stuff you see around town.

Thats all I can think of off hand.

Do it re: the Phish shows - they're always a good time. Thanks for the recommendations! I was at Threes the last time I was in town, but it was packed because of a Benevento Russo show. Would definitely revisit again when it's not a zoo. I've been to LIC Beer Project before too, but none of the others. I'll put them on the list.

I'm still in shock Bierkraft closed. Those dudes always remembered me despite only visiting about once a year, and the sandwiches were the truth. I know some of them went over to Other Half and I saw them at a release a few years ago, but I'm not sure what they're up to now.

I like the idea of a Suarez trip too, but not sure I'll have time. I'm guessing to look for it at all of the usual suspects. Blind Tiger is generally my home bar in the city, and I usually have a couple good sessions there regardless of other activities.

Suarez is usually only available in Brooklyn. Hops Hill often has a keg or two available. The drive up isn't bad (about 2 hours) and is really worth it, especially on a Wed or Sunday when they have vintage bottles available And those pretzels...

Oh and Bierkraft sandwiches were the ******* truth.

Sunday might actually work. Will depend on convincing the fam to either come along (what else is up there to justify a trip to at least two people who don't really drink or drink beer?) or let me borrow the car and ditch them. I visited during a CW pickup run in spring 2017, and said pretzels were available. Good times. I definitely want to figure out if Dan will be around - I talked to him briefly at Pils & Love in LA in July about Brews stuff, but I'd like to circle back around to give him more info and see if he wants to send anything for 2019.

For sure. I'm planning on doing some work/family stuff in the mornings, and we might have a dinner here or there, but otherwise I have no set plans. Which generally means I'll pick a museum and then hit up whatever beer things are around there afterwards.

There's a few orchards nearby for apple/late pumpkin picking. We visited Mead Orchards a mile or two down the road last time and it was fun. There's also a winery nearby as well, and Hudson NY has some nice restaurants and sights. I'm not too well-versed with the area, only been up 2 or 3 times.

Hitting first two Phish nights and I'm sure some beers will be had/bottles opened if you're interested

Let’s definitely grab beers at some point when you’re around! Also happy to host a share as well if people would want to do that
