I picked up a master chef burner and it's ****e. Cast metal, poor threads. Just extremely cheap. I should get by with it for a little while, but I am wary of it for sure.

I want a burner made of quality parts. One that I can use for life with only the basic upkeep one should expect over time.

If you look around you can usually find a KAB4 Banjo Burner for under a bill shipped. I have one and it's awesome.

+1 for the Bayou Classic SQ14. Been using it for a year and a half. Its good on propane (6-7 batches per 5 gal tank), heats fast and is plenty sturdy. I typically start with 7 gallons and boil down to a little less than six.
