I thought the best beer to pair with shellfish is the kind you like so much that you'll never share.

some would say that is pretty shellfish...

Why do you have to link something that I have to subscribe to? Do you work for WSJ? I don't even need an article to answer that question...it's easy. Cold. Cold beer goes best with shellfish. Coincidentally, cold beer goes best with other fish too. It also goes well with sandwiches, prescription medication, pizza, nachos, steak, burritos, Captain Crunch, chicken, warm beer to make it colder beer, hangovers, in-laws, golf, tv/movies, yard work procrastinating, post-napping, and lunch.

Not a whole lot of things cold beer doesn't pair well with although it would be a much shorter list: AA meetings, driving, and e-bay come to mind first.
