Ok, just some info. I am going to buy a chest freezer with a Temperature control device and I gst how most of that works to control fermentation temps, but here is where I am lost a little. How would I get the "freezer" to heat to a higher temp when I need to raise the temps, I understand I can get the temp down to a certain temp, but is there a way to heat the chamber? Thanks

Carboy heater, link to one for an example, or heating pad. I have also used a 100 Watt light bulb in a desk lamp.

Are you going to build the controller or looking to get a controller that is plug and play. Some controllers are cooling only and some can be switched back and forth for both functions. There are several ways to heat the chamber (although I never have to here in Florida where it's like 80* today). There are products like heating mats that shops carry or there are homemade versions like the low wattage bulb wired into a metal paint can. Here's a couple of links for controllers and heating methods/ products:

http://morebeer.com/products/ranco-digital-twostage-temperature-controller-wired.html?site_id=5 just an example of a two stage contoller for heating and cooling although there are definitely cheaper options outthere commercially or build youre own controller like alot of huys do.

Good luck
