Hey guys. I am having trouble trying to figure out my PID/temp probe. I followed Kal's concept of measuring the temp of the mash in the plumbing (just after ball lock in the mash tun).

The problem: I did a manual test with a thermometer and it is reading much differently INSIDE the mash tun vs what the readout from the PID is reading. ie: 120 degrees in the mashtun and 77.9 per the probe that had been in re circulation for ~5 mins.

What am I missing here? Do these need to be calibrated somehow...I am new to PID and RTD sensors. Thanks in advance for the help...few pics below which probably are not helpful

Most pids will accept different types of thermocouples, do you have yours set for rtd?

ahh thank you. I mis-read the manual. I swear I tried the combo that is now working already. Nonetheless, thank you!
