Tap water testers??

What can I buy or do to test my tap water? To make sure it's alright to brew with?
Every time I brew a batch of beer, there is a weird taste, I don't know if it's the water or what? I figured I would start by testing the water.

you're best off consulting your local municple water company/dept. and see if they can give you a standard water profile.

generally speaking, if you can drink your tap water, you can brew with it. it may not be ideal for some styles, but it depends how much of a purist you want to be (pilsner's need really soft water, but stouts should have hard water).

Is this for all grain or extract?
