Bought a Magic Chef Kegerator Model Number: MCKC490B . It didn’t come with a tap handle so I been making do with out one. I work at a bar and was able to get a handle out of a box of old promo stuff. Issue is the hole on the handle is too small for the threads on the tap. I’ve done some looking around and found this: https://forum.micromatic.com/forum/...gerator-kits-home/8775-tap-handle-thread-size
Which says that my kegerator is probably metric. Looked into getting an adapter and found one for 10 bucks but with shipping and taxes it’ll be close to 25. At that point I’d rather just buy a new tap for 25. Question is will I run into further issues with a new tap given that this kegerator is metric? Also open to suggestions on other ways to get this handle to fit.

We'll, considering your link, I'd say replace the faucet as a minimum, assuming it's threaded the same (domestic vs import?) It's been a decade since I really looked into the whole thread thing for faucets and kegerators, I built my kegerators a while ago. But I don't remember having to worry but that might be because I was ordering from a US website? If you really wanted to get into it you could get a pitch gauge to measure the threads.

^ +1 ..Most sanke-type retail kegerators come with the cheapest plated-chrome taps and fittings. I've personally never liked the idea of drinking the hardware as the chrome dissolves into your beer slowly over time. I too recommend replacing the tap and while you're at it; The standard gas and liquid lines are also likely to be the low-quality O2 permeable stuff.. you could upgrade the shanks and lines to Duotight and EVABarrier all in one go.
..just my 2-cents.
