My wife went to a tag sale yesterday morning. While she was there I got a call from her. There's a 50's style fridge kegerator there - did I want it? Well I already have a kegerator based on a much newer fridge, so I don't need another.
But then she says "oh there are also some kegs here". After talking through with her to ensure they're ball lock cornys, I tell her to see if they'll take $20 for all 4. I don't really need any kegs, but if I could get them dirt cheap, why not?
So she came home with four used kegs. Two normal black handled ones, one five gallon with a single handle (I guess that's a newer style?) and the biggest surprise of all, one three gallon keg. All for $20.
The 3 gallon had water in it and is in perfect shape. The five gallon single handle had soda in it, but is also in perfect shape. The two normal two-handled ones weren't well sealed, and had some nastiness inside, but they're soaking with PBW right now, which I expect should take care of that. But even if all I get is the two known good ones, I'm happy!
