Has anyone had a hop package stored in a freezer swell up? Do i assume these hops shouldnt be used now?

Was it sealed when you pulled it out of the freezer? I've never had that happen. Closest thing was when my bag wasn't sealed all the way. I sucked all the air out and thought I sealed it but when I pulled the bag back out it wasn't air tight. Far from being swollen but...

I'd give it a smell. If the hops don't have that freezer smell and smell like hops I'd use them. Worst case maybe just use them as bittering hops.

Thanks, I will give them a smell and see how they are. In my mind I was just concerned of the same way food packages can swell due to microbial growth. Bobeer this is a sealed 1 oz package of galaxy that was never opened- it is completely air tight and firmly swollen. I'm sure they will work just fine being boiled for 60 min without any issues
