Hello all.

The Dig Pub up here in Cedar Park, TX is having a "Monster BREW" contest.

The beers must be 1.066 or bigger.

I want to enter but I generally do:
Pales, Blondes, Hefe stuff around 1.048 - 1.055 or so.

I guess I was thinking of just doing a big IPA ? ?
I have a # of cascade and Centennial.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks all.

Just do a basic IPA grain bill and hop the s**t out of it.

10 lb 2-row
2 lb victory malt
1/2 lb carapils
1/2 lb Crystal 10 or 20

Maybe throw a little Special B in.

+1.. Do a 1.070 late hop IPA.. use those centennials and cascades to start hopping at 30 minutes, and hop every 5 minutes to flameout, then dry hop with some more. You can't go wrong. It'll blow your mind!!

Do you have a link to the contest details? I'm wondering if my tripel will be remotely ready in time to enter it.

great idea.
I will scan the form and post it.
They do not have the forms online from what I can tell.

How do I go about continuly adding hops? Measure out the total amount... and then just add a little at a time till flame out?

I like the late hopped IPA idea. I want to experiment with the one big late addition and create a massive hop bomb. Another idea, maybe a big, bad American brown ale?
