Does anyone know how to convert these malts to extract.

13 lbs Belgian Pils
2 lbs Belgian Munich
3 oz lbs Belgian Chocolate Malt

I'm relatively new to brewing and can't mash and have never done a partial mash. These are the malts for a Troegs Mad Elf clone.

Briess Munich extract is 50:50 2-row and Munich. It's close to 7 lbs of Pilsen LME, 3 lbs Briess Munich LME and 3 oz Chocolate malt.

How you convert it has a lot to do with what you can get from where you buy at.

This could be made with a simple partial mash.

I may try partial mashing this one. the amount of grain seems like a lot, although i hve no idea how much should be used. Thanks

All you need is a paint strainer bag.

Just put in the 2 lbs of Munich malt and the 3 oz of Chocolate malt in about one gallon and a half of water. Try to keep it at 149-153 for an hour then pull out the bag and let it drip. It's just like steeping grains really. You'll need about 9 lbs of Pilsen LME.
