Too lazy to backtrack through this thread. Aside from what's listed on the website any recommendations for food near or on the way to Suarez (coming up 87)? Plan on arriving to the area around 11:30 (so 90 mins to kill before open). Thanks!

Straight from the Suarez FAQ:

• GASKINS // Dinner only. Dan's brother and his wife run the joint, but we'd love it even if we weren't related.
• BONFIGLIO & BREAD // Breakfast and Lunch.
• RIVERTOWN LODGE // Dinner and Weekend Brunch.
• LIL' DEB'S OASIS // Lunch and Dinner.
• BUBBY'S TAKE AWAY KITCHEN // Lunch. We dig on the brisket burritos and Caribbean Chicken. And can't get enough of the housemade chai (hot or iced).

Some locals may have better/different recommendations.

I don't know if they're still open for the season (I would have to assume they are), but Papa's Best Batch is down the road and has some pretty damn good stuff.

Rose Hill Farm for apples. There’s a state park down the road from Sloop which has some easy trails. Make sure to get some hot sauce and smoked cheese at Sloop.

Vanderbilt was going to be my suggestion as well.

I've never been, but maybe the Montgomery Estate @ Bard College could also work (and isn't as far south as Hyde Park would be).
