Well i cold crashed my dead guy ale clone and had a gallon jug filled about halfway with starsan/water "properly mixed" and had to go away for few days 3 days later i checked and noticed my gallon jug with the blow off tube in it was empty i then look at my carboy and noticed it raised up about half a gallon somehow while cold crashing it sucked all that into the carboy on top of my beer... it smells fine and tasted ok "cold flat beer" is there any reason i shouldnt drink this? im sure the ABV went down but can that much santizer harm me in anyway?

That "somehow" is laws of nature. IMO it's fine to drink. It may taste a little off. But I've never experienced your issue.

Yeah i understand the mechanics of how it happened and wish i would have switched to a 3 peice airlock before cold crashing it just makes me mad i did a bone head move and wanted to know if it was safe to drink...

It would have sucked the liquid out of the airlock.

Airlocks, blow off are needed to bleed off cO2 the yeasties are making. This won't/shouldn't happen during a cold crash when the yeast are going dormant. It is recommended to use a plug during cold crash.

AH great idea will do nex time thanks lol "still learning"

I heard it sanitizes your poo. Enough so that you can add it right to the secondary like fruit.

I could be wrong though.
