Hey All-
I was searching around for a nice visual on strike water temperatures and couldn't find one so I decided to make a matrix. This just gives me the option to print it out and pin it up for a quick reference instead of having to run to a computer or do calculations in my head.
I just used the simple Palmer calculation of Strike Water Temperature Tw = (.2/r)(T2 - T1) + T2
Where:
r = The ratio of water to grain in quarts per pound
T1 = The initial temperature (?F) of the mash
T2 = The target temperature (?F) of the mash
Tw = The actual temperature (?F) of the infusion water
This was my first pass so if you see anything wrong or have any recommendations on changes please let me know! I could always increase the axis ranges, adjust color scheme, modify formula, etc...
I hope some of you find this useful!
