How important is it for me to strain my wort when dumping it into my primary? I haven't really worried about it in the past but the more I brew the more I wonder.

I would say, kind of important. I have been whirlpooling and siphoning from the edge mostly and trying to keep the bits to a minimum, but it's inevitable that some stuff gets in there. RDWHAHB!

I'm more concerned about plugging up my chiller than I am getting the stuff in my fermenter. It will settle out very quickly.

Doesn't matter a bit. Most everything will settle to the bottom of the fermenter in time.

I am also on the "doesn't matter a bit" team. Hasn't hurt the batches I've made over the last five years so I guess that is proof enough for me.
