ive always wondered if you are supposed to strain the hop remains when you pour your wort into the primary fermenter? does it mess everything up if you leave some hop residuals in the primary fermenter? thanks.

Doesn't mess with a thing and they will eventually drop out of suspension. It's a personal preference whether you strain or not. I don't bother, I just let time take care of the hop particles.

I try to strain most of it out.. but I still get a cup or so of hop particles into the fermenter. I don't notice any difference between the brews I have done when I used a hop bag and when i rely on my false bottom and get some in the fermenter. So provided you are straining most of them out, I would say you will never notice a difference.

On a secondary note, there are many other things I would worry about and make sure you have under control that could effect the flavor more dramatically. IE: fermentation temp, boil times, sanitation, Aeration of the wort.. etc..

I strain, but I still get some that make their way through, it all settles out in the primary/secondary processes though. Very little, if any, makes it to the bottle though.

Ditto here - I have no real basis to compare to since I only tried straining once and was dissatisfied with the process, but I leave mine in also. Never had a problem, it all settles out.
