I recieved a partial mash stout kit as part of Christmas. The ingredients listed make it seem a little "lighter" than I like my stouts. I'm a beginner, so recipe formulation is not an area I feel anywhere near comfortable doing. Can anyone suggest some additions to the recipe to improve it?

3.3 lb. of Dark Malt Extract
4 lb. American 2-row malt
4 oz. Chocolate (malt)
4 oz. Roasted Barley
2 oz. Black Patent

1 oz. Northern Brewer

I'd say add 6-8oz flaked barley, bring the chocolate and roasted barley to 6-8oz. Should be good enough then.

Edit: I'd probably keep the roasted barley at 6oz here though. You can add some kind of (dark) crystal if you wanted, but you don't need it.
