My last batch I mixed up I took the beginning reading and it showed a 70, should this have been a .70? There was no point on the hydrometer it self. I checked it three times. I sure do wish I knew what the h#^* I am doing wrong, I followed the instruction sheet to the letter. If anyone has any idea what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thanks

If it's reading 70 that usually means 1.070 on the specific gravity scale. Double check the scale inserted in the hydrometer, it may say somewhere on there.

I checked it with plain water, and it read what it was supposed to.

Take a clear/focused picture of the hydrometer by itself or in your test jar filled with water. Then we can help more.
