Partial boil, extract brew....

double stage fermentation.....

Dark Ale kit from the local Wine and Hop Shop.

I am in the middle of my first boiling... about 40 minutes long....Smells wonderful.

19 Degrees outside, seems to be taking forever.

At least I have time for my yeast to rehydrate.

how are you chilling it? i'd use a water/ice bath. setting it outside will take FOREVER.

i wish i was brewing too. i'm kegging and possibly racking some beers today, so at least i'm freeing up carboys

Right after I posted my last post, I went out and made an ice bath. Was taking too long.

Yeast is pitched, air lock is on and I am watching for fermentation.
