so everything arrived today and i am chomping at the bit :) quick question of many to come lol.
i searched but couldnt find a clear answer to this, maybe its common sense?
if i am using pastuerized juice, (also with a malt extract) no need to boil all prior to starting primary correct?

Don't boil the juice, it will set the pectin. Since you're using malt extract with juice, I'm guessing you're making graf. If that's the case, you boil the water & malt extract with the hops & add that to your juice after cooling. Regards, GF.

I realize beermakers like to boil everything, but it's normally a no-no with cider making. I have boiled cider before. I simmered it to concentrate the cider. The project came out okay, but I doubt I'll ever do it again. The boiling definitely changed the flavor. It tasted like a baked apple.
