My starter with Wyeast 1332 Northwest settled, I have been swirling occasionally. When I swirl, I get it back in suspension, but it's still clumpy. Do I need to be concerned, or should I just RDWHAHB?
Yes, I know I need a stir plate- my father-in-law keeps telling me he has one in his garage somewhere that I can use...

Wyeast Ringwood Ale does the same thing.

When I asked Wyeast, they said it was normal and that the yeast had attenuated. It makes great beer.
