I have a 5.5 gallon bucket that was originally used to hold chlorine tablets for my pool. It has been empty for a while and I've rinsed the hell out of it with hot water from the hose. Are there any dangers in using this bucket to hold my 5gal mixture of star san?

Sunlight will chemically break down the chlorine; fill it with water and leave it in the sun for a few days and you can use that for not only starsan, but to ferment in if needed. It will be perfectly safe.

Smell the bucket. If there's no chlorine smell, it's pretty clean.

But like Steve said, fill it with water and put it in the sun for a day or two if you need to be sure.
