So for most of the really pretty looking brew stand builds I see that have keggles or bigger vessels and are CIP most people use SS tube with nice radius bends.

Barginfittings.com lists 1/2" SS tube as 75 cents PER inch. I know that it is probably cheaper than that. Which is $180 per 20 feet.

Online metals, lists Schedule 10 316 SS welded pipe for $127 for 20'

Grainger lists SS tubing for around $100 for various put ups

While looking for stock steel tube for our brew stand. I came across some interesting finds at the metal scrap yard.

Most importantly is all this SS tube. The yard quoted me $3 per pound.

The problem is that I have no idea what the average weight of a 20' stick of 1/2" SS tube would weigh. I know there are different alloys and wall thicknesses. What I am looking for is what the average price per 20' stick would be so that I can compare prices. Heck if I can buy the whole lot, I could sell it to members here and ship it in long tubes.

Per onlinemetals.com, 0.5, 0.035 wall 304 seamless is 0.1761 pounds per foot. $3.00 will get you about 6 feet ...

They want $3 a pound for stainless? That's complete BS man, ask them how much they would pay you for it. Around here they pay $1/lb and charge $1.25 to sell it back to you. Grab a stick out of the pile and ask them to weigh it.
