I brew on my kitchen stove, the only thing is it takes me a while to get the boil going. I was wondering if i split the wort/hops in to two pots will it effect my beer?

Nope, it's how I do every brew larger than 3 gallons. It will make getting an accurate gravity reading a little more difficult. You can either split your first and second runnings evenly between pots, or take a gravity reading that is 50% wort from each pot, or both, which is what I do.

well a pre boil gravity reading could work just wondering how would i calculate the boil off ratio
