Split lid coolers

i am looking into making my own mash tun. I have seen a lot of the dyi here and on YouTube. But I haven’t seen anyone use the coolers with the split lid. Does it work fine is there issues?

I don't see any issues with that. Make sure the walls aren't just hollow but are foamed in or have styrofoam insulation inside, and are fairly thick walled to retain heat better. Look for a low placed drain, preferably inside a bottom recess, for best draining and 0-deadspace.

Batch sparging? I love it, beats fly sparging for speed and efficiency.
