I've decided that I'm going to name my ciders after significant events in my life. One of them is going to be called A&A, after two girls I know named Alicia and Amanda. (The label will be reminiscent of the A&W label, with the cream / brown half-circles - appropriate because Alicia is blonde and Amanda is a brunette.) I'm planning on adding spice to this particular cider, so I'm looking for ideas - what have you tried in the past, what's worked and what hasn't? Cinnamon is an obvious choice; I'm also thinking of adding ginger, cardamom, cloves and possibly even black pepper.

I think something that might bring a root beer flavor would be fitting with the name and label. Has anyone used Sassafras bark in cider?
