My local water store has these nice square 3 gallon water bottles at $10 bucks each. Want to use them for fermentation instead of the 25 dollar better bottles. I plan to get 10 of them to do mixed culture fermentation experiments.
They are basically the same material as sparkletts water bottles. They aren't as clear as better bottles, but a lot cheaper.
I do understand they get scratched easy and could harbor bacteria, but not the worst as these will be used exclusively for mixed culture stuff, long term. 6 months to a year. I do have to find a stopper that fits it tho.
