Hello all. This is my first attempt at making a recipe from scratch. I picked up a case of Harvest after tasting it on tap at my local beer store. I decided since I'm not really crazy about winter beers, that this will be my fall/winter brew. So this is what I have come up with. Please feel free to give me any input on this recipe.

OG:1.058
FG 1.018

11lbs 2-row
2lbs 5oz C20
1lbs 1oz C40

1oz Challenger 60 mins
.5 oz East Kent 60 mins
1oz Fuggles 20 mins
1.5 oz Willamette 5 mins

English Ale Yeast WLP002

Mash 152°

Harvest is one of my all-time favorites. Southern Tier make a LOT of great beers in fact. Your recipe falls just barely in the "American IPA" category. I think upping the hops a little (.5 oz more of the Goldings) would round out the the maltiness. I think Harvest, a lot like Sierra Nevada's Celebration brew, build a good malt foundation to place the hops on. Let us know how this turns out.

Cheers!

Sounds good. That's the input I am looking for. I am going to make a starter Thursday and brew this on Saturday.
