So I made a BobbyM version of the hopstopper device using 18x18 mesh. It worked pretty well on my old setup. I recently built a keggle BK setup with a whirlpool input and just the device on the bottom with no false bottom. I tried to whirlpool at the end of an IPA brew and it failed miserably. I hadn't read through the forums here to realize it was going to fail because of the mesh eventually getting impacted with hop matter.

So now I am thinking of a solution and wanted some feedback if possible. What do you all think of me welding on another main drain coupler and then having two bulkhead drains. I would put the false bottom and dip tube back in along with the hop stopper sitting on top of the false bottom (I can't imagine it would be possible to get that thing under the false bottom). So the brew day would go down that I use the false bottom drain for whirlpool at end of brew and then when I am ready to transfer through the chiller I use the other hop stopper drain that shouldn't be impacted with hops.

My ultimate goal is to perform whirlpool additions and also cone that matter up in the middle and then drain out via the hop stopper when ready to go to fermentor with minimal trub. What do you all think?
