Well the title says it all.
Mostly with the ipa's and Apa's im getting the same soapy aftertaste from most of them.

I use a mix between 10% RO and 90% Tap for most of my beers and add Camden and acid malt additions.

Im very thorough with my cleaning and sanitizing but that soapy taste always seems to peek its ugly head in and overide the hop flavour im looking to taste from start to finish.

So can anyone say im not nuts and understand what i mean or am i?!. Lol.

Thanks

How long you leaving them in primary? Do you filter out the hops? I guess they can break down and actually turn to soap due to the oils or fatty acids or something. I've had it happen too, only batch I've ever dumped.

Primarys usually anywhere from 10-14 days, and i never dry hop longer than 5 days.

I guess it's the trub that breaks down, try straining the wort after cooling maybe.
