I'm looking for a grain mill that will grind small amounts of cracked corn into polenta meal. Later on I may consider milling my own flour, etc.

Hand cranked is ok but quality is a must. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks for the recommendations. I bought a Farmer Market version that got good reviews on Amazon. My understanding is that you have to re-grind the seed from coarse to fine to get the best results.

Correct, you may need 2 or 3 passes to get good flour. Just keep sifting your flour out until you have enough ground up.

I would have recommend the kitchen aide..... You just attach it to the from of the mixer and turn it on but if you don't have a mixer.....
