So i have read alot of fourms and i cant figure this one out but if a pump says its rated for 150F should i even be concerned with using it in my rims set up. i need some input. personal experiance:)

those rating are for the "conservative" person. they can not fail at that temp. Honestly they can prob go to 200deg. Its like ladders. just cause its rated to 225. It HAS to hold 450! you should be ok

I really wouldn't trust that advice without doing more research on the pump in question. It may not destroy the pump to run it at a higher temp than rated, but it may soften the plastic and/or leach some chemicals into the wort. But hey, it's your beer if you think it's worth the risk
