Sierra Nevada ESB

So many people have asked why Sierra Nevada puts out their "ESB" and calls it Early Spring Beer. I talked with a Sierra spokesman the other day at my local store and he explained it to me. This is Sierra's version of a "ESB". They put it out in early spring because after that it is their Summerfest Lager which moves to a light beer. I actually like the ESB very much.

What do you guys think?

I had heard that it was because ESB was actually copyrighted so all breweries have to say theirs means something else. I just heard that somewhere probably about a year ago. No idea how true it is though.

And for the record that is one of my favorite Sierra Nevada beers.

ESB is copyrighted by Fuller's. It is the only British brewery that labels their strong bitter as such.

Just tried it and loved it. Wish it was year round.
