I just mixed up a batch of sanitizer. Its been a while since I last brewed a batch but I seem to remember the Sodium Metabisulphite solution having a strong odor and leaving the smell on my hands. The solution I just mixed up doesn't seem to have any smell at all. Is that normal? The powder by itself still smells, Perhaps I just used to make it too strong.

Last time I used sodium metabisulphite it didn't have a big stink immediately when I mixed it but after a day or two of sitting covered it did. I mixed a gallon or so in a bucket, when opening the bucket I was nearly knocked out by the smell.

You mixed around 1tsp per liter of water, or there abouts? I think that was the 'recommended' ratio...
