Just eating some Cabot Creamery Sharp cheddar and some bavarian pretzels and just wondered what you all enjoy.

Don't get me wrong this stuff is SHARP and DELICIOUS, but what beats it?

It's not cheddar but Sharp Pinconning cheese is one of the best cheeses I've ever had. I think it's an odd type of Colby actually. The mild is great as well. The real trick is finding it if you're not in the Midwest.

"The 10+ yeaar old Super Super Sharp Cheddar from Pinconning Cheese can actually be a problem if you're not careful. We left a pound of it in a vehicle once on a hot day. A few hours later when we opened the car door, the smell was so incredibly bad two people vomited!"

Now that sounds like some sharp cheese. Mmmmm...

cabot has some sharper versions - a reserve and a vintage select. they also have a small production cave-aged sharp cheddar which is divine.

I just love cheese. Cabot makes some amazing ones especially the habanero white cheddar. Usually go through a pound and a half a week by myself.

:mug: That is the only pepper cheese that is actually HOT. And it is a good cheddar rathen than a Jack.

Freaking ridiculously awesome.

COSTCO has opened a new world of cheese for me. the Cabot creamery SHARP and the HAB cheese.

Their DUBLINER is also AWESOME cheese. Sharp in it's own right, but not a cheddar exactly. Kind of a hard cheese.

Thanks for all the response, I will look for these!

I buy that Dubliner pretty often. I also buy some applewood-smoked Cheddar, I can't remember the maker but I'm pretty sure it's another Vermont-based company. That's pretty much the only cheddar I seek out. Smoked cheese and a glass of port... mmm.

I like Gorgonzola quite a bit. It's a bleu cheese, so it's pretty sharp.

Love blue and gorgonzola, they have their place, but a really sharp cheddar is a requirement as well.

"Wensleydale?"

CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE GROMMIT!, lol.

I'm not wallace, but I love a good cheese. The WALLACE & GROMMIT episodes are the best things I have to occasionally watch with my kids.

I like Swiss and I like Feta
But my favorite cheese of all is Cheddar
The sharper the bettar

Cabot Hunter's (re-branded as Seriously Sharp? Nevertheless in the plaid wrapper).

Lots of other Cabot aged stuff. The one in the Black wax is excellent. If you are in the Burlington, VT area ever, get a little bit out of downtown and come to Cheese Traders. great stuff: http://www.cheesetraders.com/links.html

Once again, I am tempted to prost my own thread, not because of any credit I deserve, but because of great sharing from others.....IS THAT SO WRONG????;)

Not to try to bring back an old thread but I gotta weigh in on this one. Definitely the Cabot's Habanero Cheddar. Not only is it AWESOME, but I owe my legend status to that cheese. After a long day of floating the Meramec River I sat down with a brick of it and a Bottle of Fighting Cock bourbon and proceeded to go to town. When one person I offered a slice (and ate it) nearly died of a heart attack, my name turned synonymous with both insanity and bravery :) The Seriously sharp (aka Hunters cheddar) is also delicious for those that cant take the heat.
