Hiya, still learning ans stuff... find it hard to always RDWHAHB...

my 3rd kit is an irish stout... Muntons | Irish Stout

I have had it in primary now for 10 days, and the SG reading 3 days ago was exactly 1.010, again today it is still 1.010.
The instructions said to let it go to 1.008 or lower... but it seams to have stopped.

should I just transfer or rack and bottle, even though it is still at 1.010?

Instructions can be notoriously bad.

1008 is on the low side (imo) for a stout. 1010 is better.
My advice would be to leave it at least 1 week (preferably 2) then bottle it. Not to let it go lower but because it will make a better beer. It depends how "desperate" you are to bottle it.

^^^^^^^^^ What he said. Leave in in the primary longer for better tasting beer IMO.

Great! thanks for the good advice. I wont worry about the FG anymore, i.e. I consider it complete, but I will still leave it for another week minimum for bottling...
