ive noticed that alot of belgians are supposed to be served at around 55f.

does this serving temp apply only to certain belgian styles, or is this a serving recommendation that applies to high gravity beers?
 
Blehhh, I'm drinking an Allagash tripel that I've been sipping on for too long now. IMO Belgian beers taste bad at that temp. But also, I don't like any beer to be close to 55. 40 is perfect for everything, I think.
