How about if we set up a section of the site to sell brewing related books via Amazon. I'm always buying books and there are a lot of great brewing books out there. When you set up with Amazon, they give you a percentage of anything bought through your partnership link. I'm pretty sure that means that if I follow a link for a beer book from here, and then I buy a table saw, homebrewtalk.com would get a cut of the saw price, too...no pun intended.

I'm sure if we made it known to the members here that if they want anything from Amazon, they should go through here, they would. Might generate a little revenue to help the site.

Just a thought.

It'd be great to team up with one of the big ingredient sellers...though there probably isn't one big enough to offer a cut.

Excellent idea I didn't know Amazon offered that.

I put a link at the top of the website with my referral id in it so now when you click on it and buy something we get a commission.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Hey great! I'm glad it was that easy.

I think we ought to put together a list of good brew books and make a page on this site, too, so that we can make book recommendations and give people some ides of what to buy from Amazon. I don't know how to embed your referral id in the links, but if you give me the skinny, I'm happy to compile a list of my faves with proper links that you can just slap on a page and attach to the main site.

I shop from Amazon a lot. I even have an Amazon credit card that gives me points to spend on Amazon. I'll be sure to go through here from now on.

We definitely need to set up a book review section now.....
I'm reading "Travels With Barley" by Ken Wells right now and its HIGHLY recommended.
It has little do to with homebrewing but so far it is highly informative on all aspects beer. Two chapters that have really stuck out so far are the bully business tactics Budweiser has used throughout the years to eliminate small brewers, and the awesome ingenuity of the Dogfish Head brewing company. Sam Calagione, the creator of the brewery has done some awesome stuff with beer. He invented a continous feeding hopper that is called "Sir Hops Alot", and is calling one of his beers "Pangaea" (the original name of the earth's landmass before it split into continents as we know them today), where he is going to take an ingredient from each of the 7 continents for this beer. Interesting.

Good book so far....

A book review section sounds like an excellent idea I will add it tonight.

I think the selling of books should go into the For Sale forum though.
