Greetings again everyone!
With my last debacle (see here) from Tuesday it left a bitter taste in my mouth converting to All Grain. I learned quite a few flaws in my methodology traveling into the world of All Grain.
Gave it another shot today and it went much, much smoother. I brewed an ESB-esque ale today consisting of the following:
8.5lbs 2-Row
1lb Munich
.50lb C40L
.25lb Chocolate
1.25oz Fuggle FWH
.75oz Fuggle 10 min
Irish Moss 10 min
I missed my mash temperature by .5-1 degree which wasn't a big deal. Nailed my pre-boil gravity and also nailed my SG. Needless to say, i'm quite ecstatic. Took a little sample and its pretty damned tasty to start with, can't wait to check it out in a few weeks.
Just wanted to say a quick thank you to the folks that pointed out a few mistakes that I didn't notice in my first go around. Patience and thorough, accurate measurements all the way through proved to be the key for me today.
Cheers!
