I've got some Challenger hops in the freezer - sealed in a nitrogen-flushed foil package, never opened. I probably bought them 6-9 months ago. They were in the fridge for a while until I moved them into the freezer, say 3 months ago.

They're supposed to be 7%AA - can I assume they still are?

According to the book "Homebrewing for dummies", Challenger hops stability is (after 6 month @70F): Good.

They also says that freshness indicators are the color, the aroma and the looks.

So I suppose you can assume that the AA is still correct.

The question though is under what storage conditions do the hops lose their potency? According to the info in Beer Smith Challenger hops will lose 25% of their AA% after 6 months. That would drop them down to only 5.25%. But is this 25% loss regardless of storage?
