I made a Scottish Wee Heavy and it tasted great un-carbonated. I was very excited about it as it tasted so great un carbonated I could hardly wait.

Anyways I have been brewing now for right about 2 years exactly. I have made maybe 2 or 3 dozen batches since then and I have never made a bad batch of beer. Some was much better than others but never a bad batch.

Ok so I popped the top on one of these ( bottled ) It tasted horrible. A sweet vinegar taste.

Since I have never made bad beer I am unsure what went wrong here. I cant imagine it was a sanitization problem but it could be. I dont think it got any warmer than 70 - 71 in my kitchen where the bottles rest.

Im at a loss. Any ideas?

Well, a sweet vinegar taste is pretty definitive- sounds like you maybe got some acetobacteria in there. The "how" is difficult to pin down, except by you. Certainly sounds like you've got sufficient experience to brew correctly, but as you know, there are a number of places where infection can sneak in. You only mention opening one bottle, I'd sure open a sampling before I tossed the whole batch.
